I oversaw the design, planning process and project management of this major house rebuild, extension and landscaping in a remote exposed mountain location. The initial proposal was to renovate the existing cottage and replace a small stone barn with a new extension, but it quickly became apparent that the existing cottage was in such poor condition that it had to be demolished and rebuilt to match the original dwelling requiring a new planning application. The key to the rebuild was to retain the character of the unique stone construction, so all the stone was sourced from the site and local slate quarries.
